My name is Fiona, I am a full-time designer, printmaker, creator, artist….and I work in a fantastic purpose built studio in my home.

I gained a degree in design however after University I fell into a Corporate desk job that took me down an unexpected career path for many years. A number of years ago, a move provided me with the opportunity to do what I love and be my own boss.

I love being creative, it´s something that was actively encouraged from a young age. Not so long ago, I was reminded by my cousin that I made a jacket when I was about 10 years old, using a roll of bubble wrap and a stapler! I was always making things as a child and that has not changed as I have grown older.

My mind is constantly thinking about the next design, quite often I have many projects on the go at once. I have always loved lino printing as the results can be a surprise and each one is unique.

For me there is no such thing as a typical working day as some days I am designing and other days I am sewing or doing research or marketing etc. I am definitely a night owl and most of my work is carried out in the afternoons and evenings, which works well as the local Post Office is only open in the mornings.

Many years ago a good friend sang a childhood song to me which included a spontaneous nickname for me, Fifona. When I was preparing to open my Etsy store I knew that I would not just be selling one specific product so I wanted a name that could encompass many different items hence ´Fifona Designs´.
